TRASH POLITICS
The late Walter Reuther, founder of the UAW union, had a hand written slogan hung on the wall behind his desk which said:
“The Bread Box and the Ballot Box Are Tied Together.”
His simple explanation when asked what it meant went something like this, “Whatever the Union can win from the company, through collective bargaining can be stolen away by an anti-union government.”
You see that type of thing happening a lot today. Union won pensions are being done away with, leaving thousands of retirees helpless, by anti-union .. anti-worker courts and politicians.
Although horrendous in nature, I can’t image forcing someone, anyone, into destitution, but it doesn’t seem to phase these people. Unfortunately, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
The environment is under full scale attack by the trump administration. Clean water, clean air, clean energy, anything that has clean connected to it is under attack. There are literally hundreds, far too many to list here, plus it increases daily, of EPA and environmental regulations are being swept away by Executive Order.
Don’t Exit This Page! Bear with me a few more seconds as there’s a method to my madness.
So the United States has decided to embark on a path to the past of dirty water, air, energy and polluted environments for our children. Doesn’t matter if you agree or disagree … it’s a matter of fact.
We know what we’re doing, but “What is the rest of the World doing?”
I’ll simply say, “Just about the Opposite of everything we are currently doing.”
The world has begun a Renaissance of a new way of inhabiting and treating our planet. China has jump out into a huge and quite possibly impossible lead to overcome, in solar energy. The Netherlands are harnessing wind and water. The list goes on and on, but I think you get the idea.
The point is, sometimes it’s good to blaze your own path, but sometimes it’s pure insanity. I believe I’ll look at what the rest of the world is doing, and I might add the majority of American cities are doing. We’re going to be exploring, a mere sampling:

I’ll warn you, this is a huge topic which will branch off into a hundred if not thousands of different directions as new discoveries are made and tried and true methods are tweaked.
